Angola's recovery: Corruption

Angola is one of the most corrupt countries in the world. Transparency International ranks it 151 out of 159 countries. And the World Bank Institute says that in 2004 just eight percent of countries were more corrupt than Angola. That is some improvement from 2000, when only two percent of countries were more corrupt.

According to Transparency International, donors have been reluctant to give Angola aid because of the allegations of large-scale corruption.
