How to Publish page

Please take a few minutes to read this through

2) PUBLISHING


Publishing articles, press releases, appeals and reports

I) Go to the 'Publish' pull-down menu under 'Administration' in the left-hand side navigation, select 'article' and click 'GO'.
(Your article will appear in the 'Aid Agency News Feeds' section of the newsdesk and the appropriate regional pages)

II) Fill in the 'Title', 'Website' and 'Body' fields and select your member organisation from the pull-down menu. You may also include an image by filling in the fields entitled 'Image', 'Caption' and Credit'.

III) In the 'Status' drop-down menu select 'For public view'.

IV) In the third section of the form entitled 'Categories' you can tag your article to relevant emergencies, countries and topics by selecting them in the 'Unselected' box and clicking on the right-facing arrow key. We are working on addding a 'Global' option, but for the time being you'll need to select a country from each region for the article to appear on each regional page.

V) Click 'Save' at the bottom of the form.

VI) Edit what you publish by going to the article page on the site and clicking on 'Edit this page' under the 'Administration' menu in the left-hand side navigation.


Publishing a vacancy

I) Go to the 'Publish' pull-down menu under 'Administration' in the left-hand side navigation, select 'job' and click 'GO'.

II) Fill in the 'Title' and 'Body' fields and amend the remaining details accordingly.

III) In the third section of the form entitled 'Categories' you can tag your article to relevant emergencies, countries and topics by selecting them in the 'Unselected' box and clicking on the right-facing arrow key.

IV) Click 'Save' at the bottom of the form.

V) Edit what you publish by going to the 'Job search' page on the site and clicking on 'Edit this page' under 'Administration' in the left-hand side navigation.


Publishing a photo album


I) Go to the 'Publish' pull-down menu under 'Administration' in the left-hand side navigation, select 'photo album' and click 'GO'.
(Your gallery will appear in the 'Pictures' tab of the main newsdesk and in the pictures section of the appropriate regional page)

II) Fill in the 'Title' and 'Website' fields, and write a brief "teaser" describing the photo album. This should be no more than 15 words. For example, 'Norwegian Refugee Council photos document life in Ivory Coast'.

III) If you have text to go with the photos, enter this in the 'Body' section. This text will appear at the bottom of the page, below your images.

IV) Upload your photos, following the instructions on the page. Enter the photographer's name in the 'Credit' and 'Text' fields.

V) In the third section of the form entitled 'Categories' tag your article to the relevant member, emergencies, countries and topics by selecting them in the 'Unselected' box and clicking on the right-facing arrow key. VI) Click 'Save' at the bottom of the form.

VII) You can edit your gallery by opening it and clicking on 'Edit this page' under 'Administration' in the left-hand side navigation.
