LONDON (AlertNet) - The following is a list of NGOs responding to floods and landslides in the Philippines that killed more than 600 and left hundreds missing after two weeks of violent storms.
While every effort has been made to provide as comprehensive a list as possible based on the latest information, it may not be complete.

Action by Churches Together (ACT) – Switzerland
* ACT member National Council of Churches in the Philippines carrying out needs assessments with a view to getting food, water, sleeping mats, plastic sheets and blankets to at least 6,500 families in Central Luzon, Southern Tagalog, Bicoli and the National Capital Region. ADRA International – USA
*Responding in three different regions, targeting about 17,000 people affected by the typhoons. Distributing food, blankets and building materials valued at $43,000. AmeriCares – USA
*In response to the destruction caused by Typhoon Nanmadol, shipping emergency medicines and other relief supplies for the affected areas. British Red Cross – UK
*Providing emergency food, health and hygiene kits and basic household supplies such as cooking equipment, mosquito nets and blankets. Setting up mobile health services to deal with minor ailments and injuries. Caritas Internationalis
*Has launched a $200,000 appeal to help get food, medicine, clothing, cooking utensils, blankets and sleeping mats to displaced families. Catholic Relief Services – USA
*Working closely with local partner the National Secretariat for Social Action-Justice and Peace (NASSA) to assess the level of assistance needed for emergency and rebuilding needs. CRS and NASSA will likely target help to nearly 15,000 people in remote regions hardest hit by the typhoons. Church World Service – USA
*Coordinating assistance based on recommendations from a partner organisation, the National Council of Churches in the Philippines (NCCP). International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) – Switzerland
* Has launched a preliminary appeal for $1.7 million to support the Philippine National Red Cross, which has deployed disaster response teams to rescue and evacuate families, provide first aid and offer psychosocial support. Lutheran World Relief – USA
* Providing funds to the National Council of Churches in the Philippines to carry out needs assessments and immediate emergency response, including food, potable water, sleeping mats, plastic sheets and light blankets. Medical missions will also be conducted. Oxfam – UK
*As a preliminary response, providing humanitarian aid to 6,000 families, targeting evacuation centres and temporary shelters in the districts of Infanta, Quezon and Northern Catanduanes. Aid includes food packs, kerosene, hygiene items and buckets. Save the Children – USA
*Provide assistance to children and their families who have been affected by the flooding in the areas of Quezon, North Luzon, and Bicol in the Philippines. World Vision – International
