In February 2009, AlertNet and InterAction hosted a media workshop in Washington DC to help aid agencies get coverage for neglected emergencies. The session kicked off with a discussion by an expert panel of journalists giving feedback to specific story pitches and sharing their experiences of working with aid agencies:

  • Howard Goller, Reuters Editor, Political & General News, U.S. and Canada
  • John Donnelly, VP at Burness Communications and formerly journalist at The Boston Globe
  • Tara Boyle, Producer, The Kojo Nnamdi Show, WAMU 88.5

Here is a video of the discussion. The audio quality is poor so please turn up the volume on your computer when viewing.
