Typhoon Chan-Hom is located at 15.8N 118.7E in the South China Sea at 0600 UTC on May 7. Chan-Hom is moving north-northeast at 12 mph with maximum sustained winds of 98 mph and gust up to 121 mph. Chan-Hom was threatening the Philippines just days after storm Fujira battered the country last week.
