flood waters (depicted in red) along the affected region of the Mekong River for Vientiane and the surrounding region, on the border of Thailand and Laos. Flood water detection was made using Spot 5 
data recorded on 22 August 2008. This flood detection is a preliminary analysis & has not yet been validated in the field. Map Scale for A3: 1:100,000; Projection: UTM Zone 48North;Datum:WGS-84.
