Flood Waters over the Affected Areas of Southern Angola - 19 March 2008

This map illustrates satellite-detected flood waters as of 19 March 2008 over the affected areas of southern 
Angola. Flooded areas have been sorted into 2 classes: Red areas represent standing flood waters identified with a high degree of confidence; and Blue areas represent pre-flood water levels in 
July-November 2007. Flood analysis was made using ENVISAT-ASAR data (WSM) recorded on 19 March 2008 at a spatial resolution of 150m, and MODIS recorded in November 2007 and March 2008.This flood 
detection is a preliminary analysis & has not yet been validated in the field. Map scale for A3 is 1:400,000; Projection : UTM Zone 33 South; Datum : WGS 1984.
