Concern responds to floods in Pakistan

An estimated 1.5 million people have been affected, with up to 300 lives lost. 250,000 people have been left homeless, while storms have continued over the last two weeks. A total of 15 out of 29 districts across the province have been affected from coastal areas to northern districts of Balochistan. Bridges and communications infrastructures have been badly
damaged and many areas remain inaccessible by road.
Concern is responding to the current emergency created by the cyclone and floods in three of the flood affected districts of Balochistan. Addressing the urgent humanitarian needs of approximately 3,400 flood affected families, Concern will be providing food and essential non-food items and emergency latrines.The emergency relief food packages are made up of wheat flour, rice, pulses, oil and high energy biscuits. They feed a family for two weeks. Non-food items include plastic sheeting and hygiene kits.Concern is coordinating its activities with relevant government and other NGOs in the target areas, as well as at provincial and national level.
