Members of Merlin’s Emergency Response Team are deployed in Zimbabwe where the UN reports 484 cholera deaths and nearly 11,700 more suspected cases. Zimbabwe’s Minister of Health says cholera now affects nine out of 10 provinces in the country.

Merlin is in negotiations with the Ministry of Health and Child Welfare to gain operational access to cholera affected areas, to play a part in containing the outbreak.

Medicines and water and sanitation equipment are being pre-positioned outside Zimbabwe ready for a quick response.
