Two weeks in late September and early October bought an unprecedented number of emergencies in Asia: Typhoon Ketsana ripped across the Philippines and Vietnam; a deadly earthquake struck Sumatra in Indonesia; and Samoa was devastated by a tsunami.

Save the Children has been responding in all locations - meeting the immediate needs of children and their families, and helping them to recover in the longer term.
