US: RESTORING LIVELIHOODS AFTER THE FIRES
UMCOR is helping those in San Diego who lost their homes and were severely affected by economic loss during the October wildfires.
Agricultural and service industry employees who were unable to work during the fires are among those UMCOR plans to help. The focus will be to assist single paycheck families-especially individuals who are uninsured or underinsured property owners and those for whom English is their second language.
Many affected by the fires had their places of employment damaged or destroyed. Please help the families regain their livelihood by giving to

US: ORGAN AND TISSUE DONOR SUNDAY
On Sunday November 11, during worship service, the members of Lake Washington United Methodist Church in Kirkland, Wa., will observe Organ and Tissue Donor Sunday by hearing a first-hand story of a donor.
Cindy Klettke always wanted to be a donor. When she received a letter from the Bone Marrow Donor Program in Seattle saying that she was a match for a 17 year-old girl—whom she would later know as Courtney—it was particularly a poignant moment for her.
Courtney has since graduated from high school, started a career, fell in love and walked down the aisle at her own storybook wedding—a milestone in Courtney’s life that would not have happened without her transplant. “A few days of my time is not sacrifice at all for a whole precious life,” said Cindy.
Traditionally observed the second Sunday in November, Organ and Tissue Donor Sunday is an annual interfaith celebration to support organ and tissue donation. The United Methodist Church is encouraged to observe this important day to create awareness. Click here for more information.
