Silver Spring, Maryland—In support of the United Nation's worldwide effort each year on December 1 to raise awareness of the HIV and AIDS crisis, the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) announces the release of its 2007 World AIDS Day kit, a collection of resources focusing on the AIDS pandemic and how each individual can make a difference in the fight against this deadly disease.
The theme for this year's kit, "The Power of One," motivates individuals, communities, schools, and churches to get involved in the fight against the spread of HIV and AIDS. The kit includes a poster and program guides for both young people and adults. Designed to educate readers on basic facts about the disease, the program guides include activity ideas, discussion starters, and personal stories. The adult guide contains a complete sermon/presentation.
In addition to the World AIDS Day kit, ADRA offers a variety of other resources, including "The Face of AIDS," a six-minute video, World AIDS Day commemorative red ribbons, and ADRA's 2008 edition of The Original Really Useful Gift Catalog, which offers several HIV and AIDS projects to adopt and support worldwide.
ADRA's World AIDS Day resources are available within North America only, free of charge, while supplies last. To order resources, complete the online request form at www.adra.org/AIDS, or call 1.800.424.ADRA (2372). Allow 10 days for delivery.
