SILVER SPRING, Md.--The Web Marketing Association recently honored ADRA for Kids, the Adventist Development and Relief Agency's (ADRA) Web site for children, with the 2009 Non-Profit Standard of Excellence Award for Outstanding Achievement in Web Development.
"ADRA is very honored by this award," says Tina Hudgins, associate director for marketing and development, and manager of ADRA's web sites. "This site was a joy to develop and this award acknowledges all the hours of work and creativity."
The International WebAward Competition is the premier award recognition program for Web developers and marketers worldwide. According to the Web Marketing Association, the award recognizes the standard of excellence for which all Web sites should strive.
"Recognizing the best Web site in each industry is an important way to establish the ever changing standard of excellence in Web site development," said William Rice, president of the Web Marketing Association. "Winning a WebAward is a great way to demonstrate the effectiveness of your Web development efforts."
Nominations for the award come from various agencies and Web site marketing departments from more than 47 countries around the world. Sites from 96 industries, including health care, financial services, government, and non-profit work are evaluated based on seven essential criteria that determine a successful Web site.
The ADRA for Kids Web site was designed cooperatively by ADRA International and Trinet Internet Solutions, Inc., and is targeted for children between the ages of five and ten, but can be enjoyed by children of all ages.
