SUMMARY OF THIS MONTH'S ACTIVITIES AND OUTPUTS
The programme continued to reduce the threat of unexploded ordnance (UXO) to vulnerable
communities in Vietnam by implementing humanitarian mine action in Quang Binh and Quang
Tri Provinces.
- 9 Mine Action Teams (MATs), supported by 3 Community Liaison (CL) Teams
- Teams visited 2,155 houses, searching 4,353 square metres; performing 459 Explosive Ordnance
Disposal (EOD) tasks; and removing a total of 541 items of UXO and 0 mines.
- Community Liaison teams conducted 89 community/partner meetings; visiting 49
villages, conducting 1,188 house to house surveys; documenting 320 mine/UXO
reports; generating 35 post clearance impact reports.
- During November the teams also technically surveyed 30,360 m2 and cleared 300 sq/m
of land, removing and destroying a total of 32 items of UXO.
- These activities benefited 21,253 people, mainly in remote, marginalised communities.
