WER is preparing an urgent shipment of humanitarian aid to Bangladesh in order to bring desperately needed assistance to the survivors of Cyclone Sidr.

Emergency medical supplies and hygiene items are being prepared for immediate shipment to Bangladesh and will be distributed to communities in need through WER's local partner agencies.

More than 3,500 people have been killed, and thousands more are injured or missing, following the massive cyclone which hit the southern coast of Bangladesh on 15th November 2007. An additional two million people have been left homeless and in desperate need of humanitarian assistance.

WER is appealing for donations from the public in order to raise £20,000 to enable the completion of the first phase of WER's emergency response work in Bangladesh.

To make a donation, please donate online at www.wer-uk.org or call WER on 0844 249 2129 today.
