Following the recent flooding which struck the North of India, ACTED has sent out to the Bihar region an assessment team composed of two members of ACTED Afghanistan and coordinated by the ACTED Asia Regional Director.
The districts of Darbhanga and Madhubani, already particularly vulnerable areas, suffered some of the most devastating flooding in the region. In the case of Darbhanga, an estimated 2,000 villages and approximately 60% of its population have been affected.
ACTED's response will focus on guaranteeing shelter to displaced people as well as preventing an outbreak of water-borne diseases.
