Although the death toll from Hurricanes Henriette and Felix has risen to at least 100, Children International has received no report of any missing sponsored children.
Our staff in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, report that a total of 179 sponsored children and their families have been evacuated from the El Milagro community due to flooding.
The majority of families have been temporarily relocated in schools and churches that the government has established as emergency shelters.
Emergency provisions and medical care have been provided to those affected by floodwaters.
Children International agencies will continue monitoring the situation and are ready to provide assistance to affected sponsored families as needed.
