On Monday 20th November at 16:00 hours CET, the
European Commission and Save the Children will organize a live debate over the internet on the future of the European Union and how Europe’s youngest citizens can be engaged in decision making
on issues of concern to them. The main objective of the public chat session (web cast) is to provide a platform for children and young people to discuss key issues of importance to
them that they think the European Union needs to focus on and what they think needs to be done about them. The web cast is not only an opportunity to discuss but also to inform and
influence.Featured guests include European Commission Vice-President Margot Wallström and 5 young people from Finland, Lithuania, Romania, Spain and Wales. The web cast will provide an
opportunity for Commissioner Wallström to directly hear about the issues important to children and young people, to debate these issues with them and to feed the results of the debate back into
the consultation process on the White Paper on a European Communication Policy.
