Millions of flood victims in India and Pakistan

Once again South Asia needs our help. As a result of the heavy floods which were caused by the cyclone Yemyin more than 100.000 people became homeless. The mainly affected areas are Sindh and Belutschistan in the Southwest of Pakistan. At the very moment members of Aktion Deutschland Hilft are trying to asses the most urgent needs of the people living there. There is a big requirement for tents, medicaments and food. In order to start the emergency assistance as fast as possible 50.000 Euro have been provided. Certainly this sum will not be enough to help in an adequate way. For this reason Aktion Deutschland Hilft is pleading for private donations for the victims of the flood.

A farmer holds up a rat that he killed along the Dongting Lake in Yueyang, in central China's Hunan province, July 10, 2007. China's war of attrition on an estimated 2 billion marauding rats plaguing cropland around a flooded lake has claimed more than 2 million rodent casualties in one district alone, state media reported.
