PHO mission in South Sudan together with FAO distributes fishing equipment kits for vulnerable populations of South Bor County.
Villages of Pariak, Ulwac and Machagor located by the Nile continuously receive spontaneous returnees. These people are mostly unable to provide for their families. At the same time conflict mitigation between host population and returnees as well as income diversification are crucial for the local economy dominated by cattle herding. Due to locations character substantial fishing has a great potential and will support vulnerable households in many ways. PHO and FAO at this stage distributes 1 000 kits among the vulnerable livelihoods mainly headed by single mothers. PHO plans to implement more food security projects in a close future as it remains the main concern for returnees' families.
