The recently formed partnership between PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and Save the Children was highlighted in June via the visual feast that replicated an
African classroom displayed during PwC’s Foundation Week, an annual event held in Sydney and Melbourne to raise awareness and celebrate the work of PwC’s charity partners.Save the
Children developed the model classroom to represent part of what PwC will build in the village of Naherengue, Mozambique. The exciting three year partnership will see new classrooms built, a well for
clean water drilled, latrines for students constructed and training and teaching aids for teachers provided.PricewaterhouseCoopers hopes to raise AU$60,000 to complete the project. To
encourage support of this worthwhile cause, PwC employees who pledge their people giving donations to Save the Children will have their contributions matched by PricewaterhouseCoopers
dollar-for-dollar.Both organisations were very pleased with the level of awareness raised through Foundation Week 2007 and anticipate that many more PwC employees will avail themselves of
this wonderful opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of Naharengue’s children.
