'Dust' short listed for Book of the Year

Dust. (Copyright: Save the Children Australia)Dust, a book complied by Colin Thompson and inspired by the devastating famine in Niger, has been short listed for the Picture Book of the Year by the Children’s Book Council of Australia.

Save the Children received all proceeds from the book, which to date has raised $9,500 for our programs.

In 2005, television news around the world reported the terrible starvation that was killing thousands of people in Niger.  Published by ABC Books and featuring illustrations by Colin and 13 other illustrators, the book aimed to raise money to help those in need in Niger.

Winners of the Children’s Book Council of Australia awards will be announced in August.
