Micro-finance programme assists with rehabilitation of rural school

World Vision Serbia, through its micro-finance programme has financed the rehabilition of a rural primary school in the west of
the country.
In the small village of Alin Potok,on the hillsides of Zlatibor, locals initiated the community based project to improve the lives of children who attend the school. The community approached AgroInvest, World Vision's micro-finance programme to assist their children.
," said their teacher, Rade Jezdic.
The elementary school has nine pupils of varying ages. Two pre-school children, three 1st-graders, two 3rd-graders and two 4th-graders share the school. The boys and girls love to play football during playtime.
"We got new windows, and we see much better now," said 10-year-old Predrag.
World Vision Serbia also donated a computer to this school.
The single-storey brick school building was falling apart as neither the community nor the school's authorities were capable of investing in it.
