Medecins du Monde (also called Doctors of the World) provides medical health care to vulnerable populations in both developed and undeveloped countries around the world.
For the eleventh consecutive year, Medecins du Monde is running the LUIS VALTUENA INTERNATIONAL HUMANITARIAN PHOTOGRAPHY AWARD, a tribute to four humanitarian workers murdered in the field. These poignant photos convey both the horror of war and desolation but also the beauty and power of humanitarian action. The photos below highlight violence against women around the globe.
