Mar. 3 - The Israeli military has withdrawn from the Gaza Strip after a U.S. appeal.

Days of fighting after an Israeli raid have left more than 100 Palestinians dead.

But Israeli Government officials did not rule out further military action. Israel said the withdrawal should be viewed as a pause while U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice visits the Middle East.
