Aug 23 - After nearly two decades of war, parts of southern Sudan were left littered with landmines.

According to the UN, about 2,000 people have been killed or injured by mines in the last 3 years.

Efforts to rid the region of explosives are in progress. Meanwhile survivors are trying to find ways to earn a living.

A Reuters Africa Journal report.
