Mar 25 - Thousands of Palestinians in Lebanon have attended the funeral of Kamal Medhat, deputy leader of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) in Lebanon, who was killed by a roadside bomb earlier this week.

Medhat was killed with four companions on a road near Mieh Mieh refugee camp outside the southern city of Sidon. The assassination increases tensions in Lebanon's volatile Palestinian refugee camps.

Helen Long reports.
