March 17 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq at 1945 GMT on Monday.

* BAGHDAD - A mortar round killed six children when it landed on their home in the Sawmar district of northern Baghdad, the Iraqi military said.

BAGHDAD - A roadside bomb killed two U.S. soldiers when it struck their vehicle in a district north of Baghdad, the U.S. military said.

KERBALA - A female suicide bomber killed at least 40 people and wounded 71 in an attack on a cafe near the revered Imam Hussein mosque in central Kerbala, 110 km (86 miles) south of Baghdad, police and health officials said.

BAGHDAD - A minibus packed with explosives killed three people and wounded eight others in Karrada district, central Baghdad, police said.

BAGHDAD - Five bodies were found in different districts across Baghdad on Sunday, police said.

BAGHDAD - A roadside bomb killed one policeman and wounded another as they patrolled Mansour district in western Baghdad, police said.

BAGHDAD - A separate roadside bomb wounded one person in Mansour district, police said.

UDHAIM - Three bodies of U.S.-backed neighbourhood police were found two days after they were kidnapped in the town of Udhaim, 100 km (60 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

BAGHDAD - A roadside bomb wounded three people in Zayouna district in eastern Baghdad, police said.

TIKRIT - Gunmen kidnapped two off-duty Iraqi soldiers at a fake checkpoint on Sunday in western Tikrit, 175 km (110 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.
