HARARE, April 4 (Reuters) - Zimbabwe's opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) on Friday denied media reports that one of its senior officials had been arrested in a police crackdown.

Some foreign media reports on Friday said MDC Secretary-General Tendai Biti had been arrested in a general crackdown on the party. "That is simply not true. There is no truth to that. I have just been with Biti and he is in the car behind me," party spokesman Nelson Chamisa told Reuters.

He also denied reports of general raids against the MDC. (Editing by Keith Weir)
