Myanmar junta raids monasteries, arrests 200 monks

YANGON, Sept 27 (Reuters) - Myanmar security forces trying to end the biggest protests against military rule in 20 years raided two Buddhist monasteries in Yangon on Thursday and arrested 200 of the monks leading the demonstrations, witnesses said.

Other sources said pre-dawn raids were also conducted on monasteries in northeastern Myanmar.
