BAGHDAD, June 27 (Reuters) - Top Iraqi Shi'ite politician Abdul Aziz al-Hakim is doing well after treatment for a tumour in Iran, Iraqi President Jalal Talabani said on Wednesday. "(Hakim) is in good condition and, God willing, he will come to us soon," Taliban told state-owned al-Iraqiya television on his return from a trip to Iran. Heavy smoker Hakim, leader of the Supreme Islamic Iraqi Council, Iraq's largest political bloc, said in May he was in Iran for a treatment of a "simple tumour" on his lung following tests in the United States. He did not call it cancer. Talabani said he briefed Hakim on a recent trip to China during which Beijing forgave $7 billion of Iraqi debt. Talabani had previously announced the debt forgiveness, but not the amount.
