COLOMBO, Nov 28 (Reuters) - A loud explosion shook a residential quarter in the Sri Lankan capital on Wednesday, the second explosion in the day, following another earlier in the office rush hour, police said.

"There is an explosion in Nugegoda. We are investigating the incident," said an official at the police emergency unit.

Hospital sources said that they were receiving casualties from an explosion.

There were no immediate details of any injuries or damage. (Reporting by Ranga Sirilal)
