Sept 26 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Sri Lanka at 1000 GMT on Friday:

KILINOCHCHI DISTRICT-- Sri Lankan troops captured two Tamil Tiger trench lines in the Kokkavil area about 330 Km (205 miles) north of the capital Colombo, after heavy clashes killed at least four rebels on Thursday, the military said on Friday. Separately, soldiers launched an attack on a rebel bunker in Akkarayankulam area and killed two guerrillas. Five others were killed in two other clashes in the same area, the military said.

VAVUNIYA DISTRICT -- Three Tamil Tiger separatists were killed and another two wounded in five separate clashes on Thursday along the frontlines at Vedamakulam, Pallamodai and Koliyankulam, all in the northern district of Vavuniya located 255 Km (160 miles) north of Colombo, the military said.

POONERYN -- Sri Lankan Air Force Mi-24 attack helicopters rocketed a gathering point for the rebels' "Sea Tigers" naval units located in Pooneryn, a strategic artillery position about 370 km (230 miles) north of Colombo, Air Force spokesman Wing Commander Janaka Nanyakkara said. He said the strike caused heavy damage, but gave no details of casualties.

ANDANKULAM -- Nine rebels were killed and 14 wounded in heavy firefights in Andankulam area, a frontline zone located about 15 km (10 miles) south of the Tiger-held port of Mullaittivu on the northeastern coast, the military said. Two bunkers were also destroyed in the battles, it said. (Compiled by Ranga Sirilal; Editing by Jerry Norton)
