NEW DELHI, Sept 12 (Reuters) - The Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services issued a tsunami alert on Wednesday for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands but said no alert had been issued for the mainland yet after an earthquake in Indonesia.

"As yet there is no alert for the mainland," an official at the centre told Reuters.

Malaysian authorities also issued a tsunami alert following the quake in Indonesia's Sumatra region.
