DHAKA, Nov 16 (Reuters) - At least 66 people were killed and hundreds injured after a super cyclone with winds of 250 kph (155 mph) battered the Bangladesh coast overnight, local officials said on Friday.

"We have mounted a search by civilians, army and police, and the casualty figures will rise," said an official in Barisal, one of the worst hit districts.

The Home Ministry in Dhaka put the confirmed death toll at 52 but said several districts were out of contact as telephones and communications remained cut off.
