ABUJA, Nov 26 (Reuters) - Nigerian Vice President Goodluck Jonathan will represent President Umaru Yar'Adua at official functions on Friday as the country celebrates a Muslim festival, and not assume wider powers as reported earlier, a presidential spokesman said on Thursday.

Spokesman Olusegun Adeniyi said Yar'Adua, who is in Saudi Arabia for medical treatment, had asked Jonathan to represent him at the celebrations on Friday, but denied saying that he had taken over wider presidential powers.
