Oct 12 (Reuters) - Following are security and other developments in Iraq reported on Thursday as of 1945 GMT:

Asterisk denotes a new or updated item.

* MOSUL - Eight insurgents were killed in clashes with police in the city of Mosul, 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad, police said. Police said two insurgents were also wounded and 10 vehicles confiscated, including a van carrying explosives.

* MOSUL - Four civilians were killed in different attacks across Mosul, police said. Two policemen were killed in separate violence, hospital sources said.

BAGHDAD - Gunmen raided the offices of al-Shaabiya Iraqi satellite television channel in Baghdad and killed 11 people, including guards, technicians and administrative staff, the station manager said.

BAGHDAD - A bomb placed under a car and a car bomb exploded in quick succession, killing five people and wounding 10 in central Baghdad, police said.

KIRKUK - A U.S. soldier was killed and two others were wounded on Wednesday by insurgents while conducting operations in Kirkuk, 250 km (155 miles) north of Baghdad, the U.S. military said on Thursday.

BAGHDAD - A motorbike strapped with explosives targeted a police patrol and killed three people, including a policeman, and wounded 15, including five policemen, in northern Qahira district, police said.

KIRKUK - A policeman was killed and four others were wounded when gunmen ambushed a police patrol in central Kirkuk, north of Baghdad, Brigadier Sarhat Qadir of Kirkuk police said.

BAGHDAD - A roadside bomb near a petrol station wounded four people in northern Qahira district of the capital, an Interior Ministry source said.

BAQUBA - A total of 12 people were killed in different districts of the religiously mixed city of Baquba, 65 km (40 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

NEAR KIRKUK - A suicide car bomber was killed before ramming his car into an Iraqi Army checkpoint near Kirkuk, wounding one Iraqi Army soldier, police and army sources said.

BAGHDAD - The Iraqi army arrested 13 "terrorists" and 50 suspected insurgents in different parts of Iraq during the last 24 hours, the Defence Ministry said on Thursday.

NEAR DIWANIYA - Gunmen attacked a police station on Wednesday, killing a policeman and freeing 10 detainees near Diwaniya, 180 km (112 miles) south of Baghdad, police said.

ISKANDARIYA - An insurgent was killed while he was trying to plant a bomb near Iskandariya, 40 km (25 miles) south of Baghdad, police said.
