BAGHDAD, March 6 (Reuters) - A car bomb killed five Shi'ite pilgrims in central Baghdad on Tuesday as they were heading on foot to the holy city of Kerbala, police said. The blast in Yarmouk district also wounded 10 pilgrims, the latest in a string of attacks against Shi'ite pilgrims streaming to Kerbala to mark Arbain, the end of a 40-day mourning period since Ashura, which marks the death of Prophet Mohammad's grandson Hussein in 680. At least seven pilgrims were killed in several attacks in Baghdad on Monday. Sunni Arab insurgents frequently attack Shi'ite pilgrims and sites in what U.S. and Iraqi officials say is a campaign to spark a sectarian civil war.
