BAGHDAD, Feb 19 (Reuters) - A bomb inside a minibus in central Baghdad killed four people on Monday, witnesses said.

A Reuters photographer saw four charred bodies lying on the street after the explosion blew out the top of the bus in the Karrada district, a religiously mixed area.

Police said the blast was caused by a bomb planted inside the bus. They said two people were killed and four wounded in the attack.

On Sunday, two car bombs tore through a crowded market area of a mainly Shi'ite district in eastern Baghdad, killing 60 people in the worst attack since U.S. and Iraqi troops launched a security crackdown in the city last week.

The Baghdad crackdown, dubbed Operation Imposing Law, is seen as a last-ditch attempt to avert all-out civil war between majority Shi'ites and minority Sunni Arabs.

Militants entered the Golden Mosque in the Iraqi city of Samarra at dawn exactly one year ago, setting off charges that destroyed the dome of the revered Shi'ite shrine. The act sparked a wave of sectarian bloodshed that has pushed Iraq close to all-out civil war.
