June 21 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Afghanistan at 1000 GMT on Saturday:

KANDAHAR - An improvised explosive device (IED) killed four U.S.-led coalition soldiers and wounded two more in the southern province of Kandahar, the U.S. military said.

PAKTIKA - An IED killed one Polish soldier from the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) and wounded four more in the Dila district of the southeastern province of Paktika, the Polish news agency (PAP) said.

KAPISA - Coalition troops killed several militants and detained three more in the northeastern province of Kapisa, the U.S. military said.

FARAH - One coalition soldier was killed and two wounded in an IED strike in the western Afghan province of Farah on Friday, the U.S. military said.

HELMAND - Afghan security forces, backed by coalition troops, killed several militants they had observed trying to plant a roadside bomb in the southern province of Helmand on Thursday, the U.S. military said on Saturday.

KANDAHAR - Afghan security forces and coalition forces killed several militants on Thursday in the Shah Wali Kot district of the southern province of Kandahar after coming under fire, the U.S. military said on Saturday.

KHOST - Coalition forces launched airstrikes targeting a Taliban commander and a group of militants in eastern Khost province, bordering Pakistan. (Compiled by Jonathon Burch; Editing by David Fogarty)
