* HELMAND - A Danish soldier was killed and three more were wounded when their tank hit a mine or a roadside bomb on Friday, Danish Army Central Command said. Most of the Danish soldiers in Afghanistan are stationed in the southern province of Helmand.

HELMAND - One British soldier was killed and six more were wounded on Thursday in Helmand when their patrol came under enemy fire, the British Defence Ministry said in a statement on Friday.

GHAZNI- Airstrikes killed about 40 Taliban and wounded many more in the third day of an operation by Afghan and foreign forces in the Ajristan district of Ghazni province south of Kabul, the provincial governor's spokesman said on Friday.
