Blast outside U.S. security firm kills 12 Afghans

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan, Aug 18 (Reuters) - An explosion outside a base of a U.S. security firm on Saturday killed 12 people in Afghanistan's southern province of Kandahar, witnesses said.

The blast happened close to a highway to the western outskirts of Kandahar city, they said.
