ISLAMABAD, Sept 6 (Reuters) - An earthquake shook the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, and other cities on Saturday but there was no immediate word on damage or casualties.

The quake was also felt in the Afghan capital, Kabul, residents said. The U.S. Geological Survey said on its website the quake's magnitude was 5.6 and the epicentre was at a depth of 177 km (110 miles).

About 73,000 people were killed in northern Pakistan by a powerful earthquake in October 2005.
