Two police dead in U.S. Istanbul consulate attack-TV

ISTANBUL, July 9 (Reuters) - Two police officers were killed when armed assailants opened fire on them near the U.S. consulate in Istanbul on Wednesday, broadcaster CNN Turk reported.

A U.S. embassy spokeswoman in Ankara said they were aware of an incident near the consulate but had no further information.
