June 26 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq at 1200 GMT on Tuesday:

* BAGHDAD - Gunmen assassinated Nihad Mohammed, the deputy dean of Nahrain college, in southern Baghdad, police said.

* BAGHDAD - Clashes between insurgents and police left one policemen dead and three wounded in the town of Madaen, just south of Baghdad, police said.

* BAGHDAD - A roadside bomb wounded three civilians when it exploded in Baghdad's central Baladiyat neighbourhood, police said.

* MOSUL - Gunmen killed a college student in Mosul, police said.

BAGHDAD - The bodies of 16 people were found shot in different districts of Baghdad on Monday, police said.

BAGHDAD - A U.S. soldier was killed and three wounded when a roadside bomb exploded near his vehicle on Monday in eastern Baghdad, the U.S. military said.

BAGHDAD - The U.S. military killed two insurgents and detained two others during raids targeting al Qaeda in Iraq and their bombing network in the cities of Baghdad, Mosul, and Baiji, the U.S. military said.

LATIFIYA - A roadside bomb targeting an Iraqi army convey killed two soldiers on Monday in Latifiya, 40 km (25 miles) south of the capital, police said.
