Sept 27 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq at 1930 GMT on Thursday.

* BAGHDAD - A U.S. Apache attack helicopter was hit by small arms fire while assisting troops fighting gunmen on Wednesday but was able to land at a military base south of Baghdad, the military said. No one on board was hurt.

* BAGHDAD - Coalition Forces detained three militants who posed as workers in high-level positions at Baghdad's international airport, the U.S. military said in a statement. The three were suspected of trying to establish a base for kidnapping operations against Iraqi security forces and civilians "who stand up against the group's criminal activities", it said.

HILLA - A roadside bomb in Hilla, 100 km (62 miles) south of Baghdad, killed two Iraqi special forces and wounded three Iraqi special forces and one civilian, police said.

NEAR RIAYDH - An internal pipeline carrying crude oil to the Baiji refinery was ruptured by a suspected improvised explosive device near the town of Riyadh, 50 km (30 miles) southwest of Kirkuk in northern Iraq, police said.

BAHBAHANI - U.S. forces are investigating an air strike on Tuesday in the village of Bahbahani, about 60 km (40 miles) south of Baghdad, the U.S. military said. Local police said the air strike killed five women and four children.

BAGHDAD - U.S. forces detained 21 suspected insurgents during operations on Wednesday and Thursday targeting al Qaeda members in Samarra, Baiji and Baghdad, the U.S. military said.

BAGHDAD - U.S. forces killed one insurgent and detained two suspected members of an Iranian-backed group during an operation in northern Baghdad, the U.S. military said.

BAGHDAD - Seven bodies were found in different parts of Baghdad on Wednesday, police said.

BAGHDAD - A car bomb near a mosque killed one person and wounded two in the New Baghdad district of eastern Baghdad, police said.

NASSIRIYA - A roadside bomb targeting a police patrol killed two policemen and wounded three near Nassiriya in southern Iraq, a hospital source said.

BAGHDAD - A car bomb near a mosque wounded five people in the Ur district of northeastern Baghdad, police said.

HAWIJA - A roadside bomb targeting a police patrol killed a police officer and wounded three on Wednesday in the town of Hawija, 70 km (40 miles) southwest of Baghdad, police said.

RIYADH - Gunmen killed two brothers in a drive-by shooting near the town of Riyadh, police said.

KIRKUK - Gunmen killed an off-duty soldier in a drive-by shooting on Wednesday in the city of Kirkuk, police said.
