June 3 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq at 1620 GMT on Tuesday:

*MOSUL - The U.S. military said they captured a wanted man with suspected ties to al-Qaeda together with four others in Mosul. The wanted man was suspected of being a security leader of al Qaeda and of coordinating bombings against Iraqi police. Mosul is 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad.

*TIKRIT - Coalition forces detained two men in Tikrit, including one suspected of helping al Qaeda carry out suicide bombings, the U.S. military said. Tikrit is 150 km (95 miles) north of Baghdad.

BAGHDAD -Iraqi security forces and multinational soldiers killed four militants in operations on Monday, the U.S. military said.

KIRKUK - A roadside bomb struck an Iraqi police patrol in central Kirkuk, 250 km (155 miles) north of Baghdad, wounding six policemen, police said.

KIRKUK - A roadside bomb wounded two people driving a farming vehicle in Riyadh district, southwest of Kirkuk, police said.

KUT - Coalition forces captured a "special groups" leader and five associates in Kut, 150 (95 miles) southeast of Baghdad, said the U.S. military. "Special Groups" is a term the U.S. military uses to describe rogue elements of Shi'ite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr's militia it says are backed by Iran. (Compiled by Khalid al-Ansary)
