Armenian president appoints Serzh Sarksyan new PM

YEREVAN, April 4 (Reuters) - Armenian President Robert Kocharyan issued a decree on Wednesday appointing Serzh Sarksyan as the Caucasus nation's new prime minister, the presidential press service said. Sarksyan's candidacy was put forward by the leading Republican Party after consultations with other major parties earlier this week. Sarksyan is the Republican Party's acting leader.
