SARAJEVO, Dec 6 (Reuters) - Peacekeepers of the European Union's EUFOR force on Thursday raided the home of a suspected supporter of Bosnian Serb wartime leader Radovan Karadzic, wanted by the U.N. war crimes tribunal on genocide charges. "At the request of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, EUFOR conducted concurrent search operations in the premises of Mile Savicic," EUFOR spokesman David Fielder told Reuters. Fielder said the security force, supported by NATO and local police, were looking for any association between Savicic and Karadzic. "It is believed that Savicic is linked with Karadzic's support network," he said. Fielder said EUFOR seized documents for analysis and police officers removed a small amount of ammunition from Savicic's premises in Sokolac, about 20 km (12 miles) southeast of the capital, Sarajevo. The houses of alleged Karadzic supporters have been raided dozens of times in the 12 years that the former Bosnian Serb leader has been on the run. The Hague-based tribunal has indicted Karadzic and his military leader Ratko Mladic for genocide in the 1995 Srebrenica massacre of 8,000 Muslims and the 43-month siege of Sarajevo, in which 11,000 people were killed. The court says Mladic is hiding in Serbia and Karadzic is believed to be moving between eastern Bosnia, Serbia and Montenegro. (Reporting by Maja Zuvela; editing by Andrew Dobbie)
