May 6 (Reuters) - Eight American soldiers were killed in bomb attacks in Iraq on Sunday, the U.S. military said.

In a statement, the military said the deadliest incident was when a roadside bomb killed six soldiers and a journalist in volatile Diyala province. The bomb hit a vehicle they were travelling in.

Two other U.S. soldiers were killed in separate bomb attacks on Sunday, the military said, including one in Baghdad. Another soldier was killed in an incident not related to combat.

Following are the latest figures for military deaths in Iraq since the U.S.-led invasion in March 2003:

U.S.-LED COALITION FORCES:

United States 3,376

Britain 148

Other nations 125

IRAQIS:

Military Between 4,900 and 6,375#

Civilians Between 62,842 and 68,869*

# = Think-tank estimates for military under Saddam Hussein killed during the 2003 war. No reliable official figures have been issued since new security forces were set up in late 2003.

* = From www.iraqbodycount.net (IBC), run by academics and peace activists, based on reports from at least two media sources. IBC says on its Web site that the figure underestimates the true number of casualties.

Documents lie on the desk of a defence lawyer during a trial that accuses U.S. soldier Mario Lozano of having killed an Italian intelligence officer while in Iraq, in Rome May 14, 2007. Lozano, who was not present at the trial, denies any wrongdoing after firing on Nicola Calipari's car that was escorting Giuliana Sgrena, a newly freed hostage, to Baghdad's airport in 2005. The trial was adjourned until July 10.
